Dominick Turns 1 | Shelby Twp., MI

Happy 1st Birthday Dominick!

I cannot believe it’s already been a year since I took Mr. Dominick’s newborn photos! He is such an adorable little boy and I had so much fun taking his one year photos last month.

Sessions like this mean so much to me. I love being able to capture the different stages of a growing family. I’ve known Dom’s mom for a pretty long time. She went to preschool with my brother and we also danced together. I feel honored to be able to capture these special memories for Alyssa and her men :).

My favorite part of this one year session had to be Dom’s noises while eating his cake. Oh my gosh… I wish you guys could’ve been there. With every little bite, we would hear “hm”, “mmm” or “oh!” He definitely did not hold back when digging into his cake!

Oh, and I can’t forget the hockey stick. Dom’s dad loves hockey and it looks like Dom is going to be a fan as well!

There is so much joy and love in these photos. Even Dom’s aunties showed up to get a few photos with him. This session right here is one of the reasons why I love my job :).

Baby Lucido’s Shower | Shelby Twp., MI

Up, up and away!

I had the privilege of photographing a beautiful baby shower in early August. I booked this shower a few months before I went on maternity leave and was super excited to get back into shooting once August rolled around. I had not met the couple prior to their baby shower, so I was super anxious once the day arrived. Dayna and Joe were the sweetest couple ever! We clicked right away and I had so much fun photographing their shower. Come to find out, we even had mutual friends!

Dayna and Joe did not find out the gender of their baby! I give them credit… I am the most impatient person ever and found out both genders of my two children as soon as I could!

This baby shower was beautiful! It was decorated as a pastel yellow, hot air balloon theme. I would have to say my favorite part was the beautiful letter that Dayna’s dad wrote. I found myself tearing up as Dayna read it to everyone that attended the shower. Luckily, the tears didn’t last too long. Dayna and Joe had their guests play the best baby shower game I’ve ever witnessed… The Dirty Diaper Game! This game was basically like musical chairs. Guests passed around a handful of diapers at their table. Once the music stopped, the person with the poopy diaper was out. Don’t worry… it wasn’t real poop haha! It was melted candy bars.

Thank you Dayna and Joe for asking me to photograph your baby shower! I am so excited for you two. Only a few short weeks until your lives change for the best. I can’t wait to find out if you’re team blue or pink! Congrats!
